Living Their Values: Couple’s Giving Supports Ideals of Together for Rochester Campaign
Francis Lloyd Price ’74, ’75S (MBA) and Nita Price have lived the values of the Together for Rochester campaign for decades. A trustee since 1995, Price and his wife Nita established scholarships within the School of Arts, Sciences & Engineering and the Simon Business School to support students who have demonstrated financial need and to further the University’s goal of promoting a diverse student body.
Their gifts have also supported the University’s David Kearns Center for Leadership and Diversity, which provides educational opportunities to students who are underrepresented in higher education. Other areas of the University that have benefited from their support include the Richard Feldman Vice President for Equity and Inclusion Fund, The Office of Equity and Inclusion Leadership Development Fund, and the Dean’s Fund for Newman Community. Helping students develop as scholars and leaders has been at the heart of the Prices’ philanthropy.
One former student who has benefited from the Prices’ generosity, Alfred A. Davis III ’12S (MBA), related the impact the financial support had on his life and career. “I realized my career accomplishments were not mine alone. It’s because of individuals who took chances on people they did not know in order to provide opportunities for success. I will forever be grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Price for taking a chance on me.”
